Former 21-year Professional MLS and US Men’s National Team Goalkeeper, 
Jon Busch coming to Richmond, VA, May 18 & 19, 2019
Richmond, Va— April 24th, 2019—The Richmond Goalkeeping Academyannounced that recently retired 21-year Pro Major League Soccer and former US Men’s National Team goalkeeper, Jon Busch will be coming to Richmond, VA to conduct a two-day elite goalkeeper camp for ages 9-19 years old on May 18 & 19, 2019 at Sports Reality Indoor Facility. His prior professional experience began in Virginia Beach, VA in the early 2000’s with former United Soccer League semi-professional soccer team, the Hampton Roads Mariners and later moving on to play professionally with the Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, and San Jose Earthquakes. 

“I have played many times in Richmond and always enjoyed interacting with the soccer community there.  Once I met Amanda and saw what she is building there in the Goalkeeper community I wanted to be a part of it.” saidBusch, “I loved being a goalkeeper and goalkeeping is my passion.  So now it’s all about teaching the next generation of goalkeepers.”

In addition to leading the two-day camp, the Richmond Goalkeeping Academy will be hosting a Public Meet and Greet on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 5:45pm-7pm at Sports Reality Indoor Facility in Mechanicsville, VA . Meet and greet tickets will be $5 each with the proceeds going to the youth camp programs, put on by the Navy Seal Foundation. Camp SPECOPS and similar youth camps are a leadership camp experience for children of active and fallen US Navy Seals.“I have been working with the Navy Seal Foundation for 8 years now.  It is a way for me to say thank you to these special warriors and their families.  Because of their sacrifices I was able to play the game I love as a professional for 21-years.”said Busch. Tickets can be purchased at the event.
